McLeland Tennis Center is Fort Worth’s premier public tennis facility. With 14 outdoor courts and 2 indoor courts McLeland represent the only public facility in Fort Worth of its size. It is our goal to enhance the playing experience for all players from the beginner to advanced-level. We offer a multitude of tennis services from classes for adult and juniors from beginners to advanced players. We also offer private lessons, ball machine rentals, drop in play, leagues, tournaments and social events. Our pro shop products include clothing, shoes, racquets, free loaner racquets, snacks, and a racquet technician who will string and repair your equipment. McLeland offers an online court and class reservation system. Our staff are experienced, certified, and excited about helping with your tennis needs. MEET THE TEAM
Matt is a lifelong tennis player and enthusiast. His passion for tennis has remained strong since spending 7 years as a junior player at the prestigious Bollettieri Tennis Academy. He was a regular practice partner to Venus and Serena Williams, Monica Seles, Michael Chang, Tommy Haas and other professionals. Matt achieved All American status at the University of Washington; along with a degree in Marketing and Advertising. As a touring professional, he travelled to more than 40 countries and became a top 400 ATP singles player. As a USPTA Elite credentialed professional, he has coached, supervised and managed programs (youth and adult) in some of the country’s finest private and public venues. Matt is excited to help build a thriving tennis center that the community will be proud of.
Scott Bailey aka Coach Scott is an avid tennis enthusiast who’s been involved in the game for almost 30 years. During his time as coach he’s developed countless players of all ages in juniors and also worked with many adults. His experience working with players who’ve gained ATP as well as WTA points, internationally and nationally ranked juniors, as well beginner level juniors and beginning adults has helped become more of a tennis lover. He’s seen over 5,000 students in his career and worked with almost 1,000 of them individually. Understanding that ‘Tennis Lessons are Life Lessons’ has helped him transition many people into the fulfillment of their tennis goals. Developing programs for juniors and adults are his specialty and he loves to do the work necessary to teach petiole to play tennis the right way. His energetic approach to player development makes him a great fit as a Director of McLeland and a good option for your developmental needs.
Goran Jazic is accredited as one of McLeland's leading coaches. He is a certified USPTA Professional. In addition, he has provided over 1,200 hours of coaching. Goran has enjoyed considerable success in his decade long career by using the player-based approach. As a coach, he has led several players to college who have achieved scholarships. Furthermore, he has chartered numerous dills for individuals whos skill levels range from beginner to expert. With his intensive tennis background and valuable experience, Goran's addition to our tennis staff will contribute to McLeland's programs in various outlets that will lead players to compete at a high level.
A Fort Worth Native. Highly Succesful Junior Player at Brewer High School. Recruited by North Central Texas College to play in the top of NCTC's Line- up. Team captain and MVP Honors throughout High School and Junior College. BHS Tennis Camp instructor (6 yrs) Mentoring young future tennis champions. Earned a B.S. Degree in Business Finance from Texas Wesleyan University while leading the TXWES Lady Rams to back to back conference championships. As a lady Ram Katy recieved Team Captain and MVP Honors. High level doubles and all court singles. A wealth of knowledge to share!
Born and raised in the Philippines, Jomar now resides in Fort Worth and is one of the strongest 4.0 Mens players that McLeland has. His work has him travelling all over the US and Jomar always makes a point to stop at a local tennis center to hit a couple of rallies while on the road.
Jomar has a very technical approach to tennis. One thing you can guarantee is he will break down your game to the tiniest details!
Born and raised in Fort Worth and graduating high school from North Crowley. Jonny who plays left handed is a 18's SuperChamp and former Top 20 in the state of Texas for boys 18.
Jonny has a lot experince playing high level and will be able to lead high level players to the next level. Using his unique perspective being a lefty player he could easily help other left handed players learn the sport.
